Handcraft workshop was established in 1998 with the help of the local authority as well as the manufacturers of traditional Slovak folk pipes, Dr. M. Smetanka and Mgr. P. Urda. Gradually they have been joined by other traditional folk handcraftsmen, whose aim is to preserve and advertise traditional Slovak folk handcraft works of art, not only in Slovakia but also abroad. Except for production of works of folk art, their main activities include exhibitions of traditional work, information on the products and procedures, as well as the history and current state of individual crafts. The workshop can be proud of its precious individual and unique products, thanks to Mgr. Ľ. Slejzak who focuses on the production of ancient jewellery made of bones, wood, copper and other materials as well as various clothing accessories with ancient symbols. A young talented designer, M. Kožanova creates textile and ceramic worksof art, such as traditional children‘s toys made of textiles or accessories made from other natural materials.
